A review of ‘The Dirties’, a new movie by the creators of Nirvana the Band the Show. It’s hard to explain why I know this will be amazing.
Yeah, it’s a found-footage dramedy (I think) about a school shooting DON’T LEAVE DON’T LEAVE and I know it’s great because I loved the web show this guy made about a band trying to book a show STAY HERE STOP STAY WAIT just go here and watch the cold open on Episode 1.
If that seems interesting but you don’t want to finish Episode 1 yet, scroll sideways (YES I KNOW SHH) all the way to the “Adventures” section and play the last one, “Autumn Leaves”, with the picture of the two girls, and watch that.
Listen, these guys are basically my Jesus. I will, for the rest of my life, interrupt my normal flow of inanity to ask if you’ve heard of these men and been bathed in their eternal-life-giving blood.
And some day you will be watching their award-winning HBO show or their Lena-Dunham-produced summer comedy, and when that day comes, you can either be some lame-ass who has to catch up to who these guys are, or you can be an early apostle like me who may earn our place as footnotes in history for our early evangelical efforts.
Imagine if you knew Wes Anderson’s early work so well that you could catch every in-joke. Now imagine you knew the Lord our God who is Also Savior that well. You’re starting to realize why you should watch everything these guys make.
couldn’t have said it better myself
Did I compare these guys to an omnipotent universe-creator enough?
